A field journal for UK car spotters

Spot it.Log it.Collect it.

Every street, car park and car show is a hunt. Log the cars you see, collect the generations you find and discover how rare your sightings really are.

01 / How it works

A good spot deserves a record.

Three steps. A daily commute or a day out at a show. Same instinct.

01

Spot it.

Seen something good? Add a photo, when you saw it and, if you like, the number plate.

02

Identify it.

Type the plate and Kerbside suggests the likely make, model and generation from the UK vehicle registry. Or search the catalogue yourself.

03

Collect it.

Each generation you find joins your collection, from a Golf Mk2 to a McLaren P1, with every individual car you have seen kept underneath it.

02 / Built for the observant

Not just the poster cars.

From hot hatches to hypercars, every road vehicle in the catalogue counts.

01

Rarity, with a reason.

See how rare each find is, based on UK licensing figures and production numbers where they are known.

02

Your own map.

With your permission, each spot remembers where it happened, so you can look back at your sightings on a map.

03

Every car, tracked.

Keep notes on each car you see: colour, variant, engine and any modifications. Spot the same car again and it is recognised.

04

Mileage clues.

When you look up a plate, recent MOT mileage gives a rough idea of whether it is a daily driver or a weekend treat.

05

Nothing missed.

Found something the catalogue does not know yet? Log it anyway and it moves into the right place later.

06

Made for the UK.

UK plates, UK registry data and UK rarity figures. From the high street to the motorway services.

03 / Coming after launch

A shared obsession.

Kerbside starts as your own spotting logbook. Next, it brings the community in.

Show off your finds, see what your friends have spotted and find out who has the rarest collection.

Share your best finds.

Pick the spots you are proudest of and share them. You choose what goes out, and plates and locations always stay private.

Your finds. Your choice.

Find your people.

Follow friends, compare collections and see who found the generation you are still hunting for.

The hunt, together.

Rarity leaderboards.

See who has spotted the rarest cars. Only standard cars count, so a one-off modification cannot game the table.

Rarity, not modifications.

04 / Private by design

Your collection.
Your business.

You decide what to share. And some things are never shared at all.

The next good find is out there.

Coming soon.

Kerbside is being built now for iPhone and Android. It will be free to download, with sharing, friends and leaderboards to follow.
